Butterflies of the Mind
To write meaningfully, one must learn to discipline oneself to practice a kind of watchful patience that is attuned to catching sight of the butterflies of significance when they flit around the edges of one’s inner world.
First, one must learn the art of inseminating one’s inner genie.
Then one must learn to accept the varying gestation cycles. Neither rushing nor forcing, one must be open and ready when the time of their incubation has come to fruition.
One must learn to listen for the gifts of wisdom that will emerge from an inner nymph, newly born and being metamorphosed.
To a still, serene, and eager mind, the nymph’s gifts of wisdom may soon be sent forth in the mature form of rare butterflies of significance flitting around the edges of one’s mind.
Finally, carefully attending, one must submit to being their amanuensis, faithfully discerning, diligently writing, and honing to perfection each of the messages disclosed through their beautiful, transient, aerial butterfly dances.
