Martin Heidegger: "The defining characteristic of the human being is care."
The Way of Care in the Life of a Human Being
By Edwin L. Young, PhD
If one does not care deeply about all of life, or even any part of life, and they insulate their heart from the bad, and even the good in anticipation that it may turn out bad, then life becomes barely worth living.
If one does care deeply, with all of their heart, then all of life, the good and the bad of it, becomes, at one and the same time, almost too painfully wonderful, and yet ever so painfully sad, that it is almost too painful to endure.
With my great admiration of my dear friends, humans who know well the anguish and joy of caring,
I send my philos, my love as an intellectual friend,
